Quick Rule |

measuring tape handy, grab a dollar bill. A dollar bill
is exactly six inches long and just a "tad" short of being
three inches wide |

Home Decorating |
Adding citrus tones such as lime, in the kitchen can make
the area look clean and crisp. A simple tablecloth, bowl
of limes, or green dinnerware can do the trick...
Painting walls in soft green tones such as celery or mint
has shown to lower blood pressure when looked at over a
period of time |
|
Gathering Leaves |
When it's time to rake up those leaves in your yard, try using
a high pressure hose to spray them into a pile. The wet leaves
compress easier into bags, or they can be added to a mulch
pile. The wind won't blow the heavier, wet leaves back all
over your yard |

Don't Loose Your Keys |
Drill a hole through a large cork and fasten your keychain
through it. In the event that your keys happen to fall into
the water, the keys will float and be easier to find |
|
Groggy Plant Food |
If you dilute beer with water, (two parts water to one part
beer) this will make a good plant food on azaleas, shrubs
and even ornamental grasses |
|
Plant Fertilizer |
Epsom salts...Determine how much to use by taking the height
of the plant into account. For every foot of plant, sprinkle
one teaspoon of Epsom Salt evenly around the base of the
plant. The blooms on blooming plants will be larger, the color
richer and this will help in the prevention of disease to the
plant...
Take the leftover crumbs that are in your cereal box or bag
and mix them in your garden soil or your planter mix. The
sugar will add nitrogen and the cereal itself adds potassium
along with other nutrients |
|
Septic Tanks |
For those of you who have septic tanks, a little maintenance
can prevent problems down the road that can cost big bucks.
This once a month treatment will help keep septic tanks
running smoothly...

Dissolve all ingredients in luke warm water. Pour into the toilet
nearest the septic tank and flush twice to get it all down into
the tank |

Good Housekeeping |
One of the best housekeeping tips I know of is a very
simple one, "Don't put it down; put it up." I think
of this so many times when I start to just lay some-
thing down instead of taking a moment to put it where
it really belongs |
|
Installing Windows |
