To get rid of paint odor, put a pail of water in the
freshly painted room and the odor should diminish
considerably |

Painting Fences |
When painting the bottom of fences, to prevent the dirt
from sticking to your brush, use an old dust pan to
keep it away from the ground |

Eliminate Mildew Odor |
If you have an old dresser, chest, trunk etc. that has an old,
musty, mildew, or "old" smell, place a piece of white (not wheat,
rye pumpernickle etc.) in a bowl and cover with white vinegar.
Place the bowl in the drawer or item for 24 hours. Repeat if
needed. If mildew odors are still there, shellacing or varnishing
the inside of the item will seal the odor and eliminate them |

Garden Fertilizer |
Almost everyone who gardens knows that manure is a great
fertilizer.
What kind is best? Depending on the animal that provides it, the
proportion of nutrients in manure can vary. Look at the Nitrogen,
phosphorous, and potassium in fertilizer. Rabbit manure usually
tops the list in terms of nitrogen, followed by chicken and horse
manure. Whatever manure you decide to use, NEVER use cat or dog
manure. Both can carry hazardous disease organisms |

Removing Wallpaper |
Try removing wallpaper with cheap fabric softener.
Fill a spray bottle with fabric softener. Saturate
the wall, leave for a few minutes and it will peel
right off |

Eliminate Ants |
This ant formula will get rid of ants without harmful pesticides...
2 parts molasses
1 part sugar
1 part dry yeast
Mix the ingredients and dab a little on small strips of cardboard
near the area where ants seem to be a problem. The will be attracted
to the formula and trust me, won't be around for seconds. You might
want to lay a line of the strips away from the areas you are trying
to have ant-free |

4 Tablespoons boric acid powder
2 Tablespoons of either flour or sugar
1 Tablespoon cocoa
Mix ingredients, then place in empty bottle caps or small trays
of aluminum foil. Put these in areas roaches seem to be a problem
and soon the problem will be history |

Kill Poison Ivy & Poison Oak |
If you have poison oak and or poison ivy growing, kill the
plants by spraying the leaves with undiluted white vinegar
during the hottest part of the day |

Child Safe Floor Cleaner |
If you use commercial floor cleaners and are worried about
your children crawling around on the chemicals, clean your
floors with an effective, yet safe cleaner. Mix 1/2 cup
baking soda with a gallon of water |

Remove Rust Spots on Cement |
If rust marks on cement are a problem, wet the cement and
sprinkle with lemon "Kool-Aid," or any lemon flavored
drink mix in a package. Cover with plastic and soak for
15 minutes. Scrub with a brush after removing the plastic
and rinse well |
