How to replace a light
bulb |
Before screwing in a new lightbulb, spray the base with WD-40
or any other spray lubricant. The lightbulb will come out
easier next time you have to change it. This is especially
good for bulbs that aren't replaced often and might have a
tendency to get stuck. A little petroleum jelly on outside
bulbs prevent the weather from making a lightbulb change
harder |

masking tape for paint |
If you apply petroleum jelly over door handles and hinges,
or anything you don't want paint to stick to, the paint
will not adhere to the items you use the jelly on...
If you don't want to use petroleum jelly on the doorknobs,
wrap a piece of foil over them to protect them from paint
spattering |

When painting a ceiling, tie a garbage bag over any suspended
light fixtures to protect and catch any drips of paint that
may fall |

Remove Grease Spots |
To remove greasy spots from wallpaper, crayon marks and food
stains, apply a paste of
cornstarch and water. Let dry and brush off. Repeat the treatment until

Fix a Leaky Toilet |

sure, place a few drops of food coloring in the tank,

Cleaning Woodwork |
If you have a woodwork cleaning job to do, brew some tea,
refrigerate until cold and use that to clean the woodwork.
It will do a great job. You can spray and wipe off, or
dip a cloth in the tea, wring out, and wipe |

Clear a Clogged Drain |
If you have a slow running drain in the bathroom, chances are hair
is a major culprit. Try using a hair removing lotion such as Nair
down the drain. Pour some down the drain and leave it 10-15
minutes, then flush with hot water |

Clear a Clogged Drain |
If you have a slow-running drain, pour 1 cup baking soda
and 1 cup salt down your drain. Pour two quarts boiling water
down the drain and leave it alone for 30 minutes. Flush with
cooler water |

Clear a Clogged Drain |
To prevent a slow-running drain, once a month, pour 1/2 cup
baking soda, followed by 1/2 cup white vinegar. Don't be
alarmed when it starts to foam. Cover the drain and allow
it to work for 30 minutes, then flush with cool water. This

Removing Contact Paper |
If you have old shelf stick paper or contact paper and want
to remove it, run a warm iron over it and it will peel off
almost effortlessly |
