Day 1: Have your child count how many bites it takes to eat a cookie, a piece of
fruit,etc.
Day 2: Have your child name things in the house that are shaped like a square, circle,
triangle and rectangle.
Day 3: Have your child measure feet in the family. Which family member's feet measures
closest to a foot?
Day 4: Have your child identify the numbers used on a television dial.
Day 5: Have your child count the shoes in a closet. How many pairs are there?
Day 6: Have your child count the stairs in or around your house or apartment.
Day 7: Have your child count the rooms in your house or apartment.
Day 8: Have your child count the socks in his drawer. How many pairs are there?
Day 9: Have your child count books on a bookshelf.
Day 10: Have your child count the timepieces in your home (clocks, timers, calendars
etc.).
Day 11: Have your child count the measuring tools in your home (rulers, yardsticks,
scales, etc.)
Day 12: Have your child count how many feet it would take to cross a room.
Day 13: You and your child make up a simple recipe. Have your child do the measuring.
Day 14: As your child sets the table have her count out the forks, knives, spoons, etc.
Day 15: Let your child sort the table utensil drawer.
Day 16: Let your child sort loose change.
Day 17: Let your child sort socks.
Day 18: Let your child sort buttons.
Day 19: Have your child count anything (coins, stairs, colors, cars, colors on license
plates).
Day 20: Have your child read numbers on houses, elevators, license plates, etc.
Day 21: Have your child read grocery prices while shopping.
Day 22: Talk with your child about numbers around the house (phone, tv, clocks, etc.)
Day 23: Create a family activity by weighing family members (even the dog or cat).
Day 24: In the grocery store weigh meats, vegetables or fruit.
Day 25: Have a measuring party. Measure pictures, tables, family members, etc.
